Even when she’s not at her best, Nicki Minaj sits head and shoulders above the rest.
Now, with 180,000 dislikes and just 90,000 likes on Youtube, it seems like the public hasn’t taken to kindly to Nicki’s new video. Some viewers complained they almost had a seizure, others complained of the vulgarity of the lyrics….BUT, It doesn’t matter why or if you hated it, the only thing that matters is that you watched it (maybe even twice). That means you helped Nicki Minaj break a Vevo record.
After just five days of it’s release, more than 10 million people have viewed it. But the record Vevo says Nicki broke took place 24 hours after the video premiered. The day after Roman reaked havoc on your personal computer, the video had racked in 4.8 million views–a new record. Which means a sh-t load of people want to know what Roman is Reloading.
As we previously reported,
Nicki moved her album release date from Feb. 14 to April 3. But, just when people started to speculate if her follow up album wouldn’t do so well based on lack of interest in the song, the video helped the album gain some buzz. The new vid also breathed life into the single, which has jumped from somewhere around 130 to number 35 on iTunes’ top songs in just four days while her single “Turn Me On” f/ David Guetta is sitting pretty at #1 on Itunes and has already went Gold. David recently revealed that a video is in the works for that track as well.
Meanwhile, it’s uncertain if you will see ‘Stupid Hoe’ on your television screens. Nicki revealed that she chose Vevo to premiere her video to protect her art:
“Can’t premiere on a network b/c its important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time.”
As if this wasn’t enough to put a smile on her face, she recently celebrated an iTunes #1 with ‘Turn Me On’, the dance number she recorded with French maestro David Guetta. Check out Nicki Minaj – Turn Me On below:
Yup, this chick is laughing all the way to the bank!
