On Monday, R&B singer Mary J. Blige, pop sensation Selena Gomez, supermodel Tyra Banks, Bill Clinton’s daughter Chelsea Clinton, talk show host Chelsea Handler, singer/fashion ambassador Solange Knowles, just to name a few, were spotted at the 22nd annual “Glamour Women of the Year Awards” held at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Witnesses said the 20-year-old appeared to be in good spirits and didn’t seem like she was nursing a broken heart after breaking up with Justin Bieber.
Gomez was clearly excited when she took the stage to accept her Woman of the Year award.
“I am so honored to be in a room full of women that I can only aspire to be as good as they are one day,” she gushed. “I feel so lucky that every day I get to work with interesting people that are way smarter than me, that have taught me so much.”
The star also had a special message for her fans:
“I just want to share with all the girls out there — you have a voice, you have a chance. Just do what you love, whether it’s acting or singing and just being true to who you are. The person who has taught me that is my mom. She’s so strong and beautiful and has taught me everything.”
