25 year-old Rihanna, who sits well at #13 on Forbes Magazine 2013 “100 Most Powerful Celebrities” list in the world, has released the first promotional video and photos for her fiercely fashionable reality competition show, “Styled to Rock.“
The singer, who is the executive producer of the hour-long 10-episode series, goes outside of the music industry and tries her hand in the world of fashion.
The Style icon also adds her stylist Mel Ottenberg, who joins cast-members Pharrell Williams and Erin Wasson, on the judges panel.
A former fashion design major, Mel currently styles all of Rihanna’s music videos, album covers and on-stage appearances—including her 2013 Diamonds World Tour. He’s also worked with stars including Chloé Sevigny and James Franco; styled fashion shoots for The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ; and worked his wardrobe magic in ads for Nike and Dior.
“Mel and I have such a similar aesthetic. It’s as if he can read my mind sometimes,” said Rihanna. “I love his attention to detail and all the research he does for every look. He is more than a stylist. He is an artist.”
