You are not performing until you are performing for world leaders. Rapper Kanye West went to Kazakhstan this past weekend to do a show for the president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev’s grandson wedding and reportedly pulled in $3 million for the gig.
Now, Kazakhstan doesn’t have the best record when it comes to human rights, but is Kanye really supposed to turn down a $3 million show? Via The Daily Mail:
“Kazakhstan’s serious and deteriorating human rights situation includes ‘credible allegations of torture, the imprisonment of government critics, tight controls over the media and freedom of expression and association, limits in religious freedom, and continuing violation of workers’ rights.’
