According to LatinPost, the duo performed their unique version of Bill Wither‘s classic “Ain’t No Sunshine” at the “Grammy Nominations Concert Live” back in December. Keith however enjoyed performing with the ‘Adorn’ singer, saying;
“I loved playing with Miguel tonight,” he said after the successful performance. “It was really, really cool getting to do that with him. I hope we get to do something else.”
Miguel apparently felt the same way, telling a backstage media reporter:
“Keith is honestly, hands-down, probably the coolest guy I’ve got to work with, especially on a collaborative,” said the R&B singer. “Keith, can we make some music? This is the official request and I’m doing it on television.”
Urban also explained that he and Miguel methodically chose to keep their cover of the popular song straightforward.
“We purposefully tried to take it to a slightly minimal place,” he said. “And it’s tricky because it’s a song that has been covered a gazillion times by everybody, and we just tried to make it our own tonight.”
Keith will also busy working his ‘Idol’ gig, scheduled for an upcoming two-night (season 13) premiere on Wed., Jan. 15 and Thurs., Jan. 16 at 8/7c on Fox.
