Not everyone is happy for Cardi B following the success of her solo track “Bodak Yellow,” especially now that her song is No. 1 on the Billboards’ top 200 chart.
Sipping on hater-rade, Rapstress Azealia Banks went on a lengthy Twitter rant about “Love & Hip Hop: New York” break out star saying:
Via Boombox: “I’m sorry. Black industry men are too hype for this Latina girl I’ve never seen them jump like this for remy or nicki,” she tweeted. “Spinning this ‘for the culture’ story when they are simply letting white men at Atlantic buy them into hating their own women.”
Banks reportedly tweeted her disapproval “anonymously” from the XoCheapy account she’s been using of late. A fan responded to Banks’ tweet saying, “Cardi is black,” but Banks quickly responded with, “She’s only black when black want to include themselves in a success story.” Adding, “I wanted spicy Latina and she gave me poor mans nicki.”
Banks also used the time to promote her Halloween Mermaid Ball and asked fans to use the nude photo to make their own flyers for the Ball. Smh.
FYI: “Bodak Yellow” is the first No. 1 to be on Billboard’s top 200 by a solo female rapper since Lauryn Hill‘s “Doo Wop (That Thing” back in 1998.
