We are not here to pick sides in a situation like this, but asking a straight man to date a woman who was once a man, isn’t that a little absurd?

Singer Ginuwine sparked a heated debate on Twitter after a recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother UK. In the latest episode, Ginuwine seemingly rejected a kiss from fellow housemate India Willoughby all because she was once a man.

The controversy stems from a conversation between Willoughby and the “Pony” singer, in which she asked whether he would date a trans woman and his response was:

“You would date me, yeah,” Willoughby, who is a trans woman herself, asked. Ginuwine quickly replied by saying: “Not if you were trans,”. Not taking no for an answer, Willoughby attempted to plant a kiss on the singer. When her advance was rejected, Willoughby stormed off. And it wasn’t long before the Twitter universe unleash their wrath on the singer as well.

Now Twitter has split into two sides. One side is outraged by Ginuwine’s rejection, suggesting that his unwillingness to date trans women is transphobic and bigoted. On the other hand, some fans are rallying behind the “In Those Jeans” artist, insisting that he has a choice to date whomever he chooses. Some also suggested that Willoughby was actually harassing him.

One twitter who chose not to be bias, responded with:

Ginuwine saying he wouldn’t date a trans woman is a preference not discrimination… plus he barely knows the woman, if you out here kissing random people then you got a problem

The shit between India and Ginuwine IS transphobia & im tired of them saying that it isn’t. If you say you won’t date someone because they’re trans but you would date them if you didn’t know, IT IS TRANSPHOBIA.

Ginuwine discriminates against trans women, as do most cis men.
That was India’s point. #cbb

Irrespective of how nasty India is, (& she hates other trans ppl too), does Ginuwine know how much he’s insulted ALL trans women by saying he’d never date a trans woman. Also presumptuous & arrogant of him to assume we’d all be lining up to go out with him.

Let us know what you think about Ginuwine’s decision not to date a transwoman in the comments below….
