They’re baa-ack, and Los Angeles is glad they are, because after spending a little quality time in Nashville, the Grammy Awards is heading back to sunny California.
Los Angeles is rolling out the royal red carpet for the show. There’s going to be plenty of pomp, circumstance and Fun with a capital “F” when the 56th Annual Grammy Awards rolls into town.
Nominations for the January 26th show will be announced during the Sixth Annual Grammy® Nominations Concert
, which will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theater in the glitz and glamour capital of the world.
The concert will feature current Grammy nominees and previous Grammy winners. LL Cool J, who is a three-peating veteran host, is taking time from his busy schedule to host the shindig and he will be surrounded by the biggest stars in the music entertainment world. All you music fanatics know that this is one show you do not want to miss.
Newcomers Macklemore and Ryan Lewis will be hamming it up for the televised concert. They’re just coming down from the high of winning the MTV Video Music Awards for their songs “Thrift Shop,” “Same Love” and “Can’t Hold Us Down.” Their live spots will help keep the energy high at the Grammy Nominations Concert.
Drake is going to be throwing down live at the concert. He’s been busy celebrating his recent Number One hit CD “Nothing Was the Same”. It wasted no time leap-frogging over everyone else and landing at the top slot within microseconds of its release. Nearly two-thirds of a million copies were sold immediately. Drake’s magic was enhanced properly with crossover-worthy guest appearances by Big Sean, T.I, Jay Z, 2 Chainz and Majid Jordan. Drake’s live performance is sure to slay everybody in the house.
Robin Thicke seems to be everywhere, and he’s going to be at the Grammy Nominations Concert too. Thicke’s big hit “Blurred Lines” gives him some real momentum heading into the Grammy season. He seems like a lock for some sort of award, and he’ll be rocking the house at the Grammy Nominations Concert.
Of course, Keith Urban’s very presence is enough to titillate country music fans everywhere. His shows are always crowd-pleasers. The Urban-aire is just a country boy at heart.
The female performers enlisted are Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj (NOT YET CONFIRMED), and Taylor Swift. Taylor will be performing from Australia while Katy is performing from Canada.
The Grammy Nominations Concert will air live tonight (December 6th) from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and the special will air on CBS at 10pm EST.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Drizzy is no longer able to perform at the show as he is currently on the U.S. leg of ‘Would You Like A Tour?’ and has a show this Saturday in the midwest.
“Unfortunately, due to scheduling complications, Drake will no longer be performing … [he’s] currently in the middle of his nationwide ‘Would You Like A Tour?’ and sincerely apologizes to his fans that he can’t be there.”, reports TMZ (via Drake’s rep).
