Serena Williams is sharing her third cover of Vogue Magazine with her 4 months old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

Though [Williams] had an enviably easy pregnancy, what followed was the greatest medical ordeal of a life that has been punctuated by them. Olympia was born by emergency C-section after her heart rate dove dangerously low during contractions. The surgery went off without a hitch; Alexis cut the cord, and the wailing newborn fell silent the moment she was laid on her mother’s chest. “That was an amazing feeling,” Serena remembers. “And then everything went bad.”

“When I first saw this @voguemagazine cover it brought tears to my eyes. All Vogue covers are special but to share this one with my beautiful daughter @olympiaohanian also the youngest Vogue cover star makes it moment I will never forget. The article is a must read. Link in bio,” Williams wrote on her Instagram account. Alexis Jr., is the youngest person to appear on the cover of U.S Vogue.

The shoot, photographed by Mario Testino, shows off the Williams-Ohanian family in a series of photos unicorn onesies and matching pajamas. Williams’s husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, also made an appearance, but Williams’ daughter stole the spotlight.

When it comes to parenting, Williams told the magazine that “women are sometimes taught to not dream as big as men. I’m so glad I had a daughter. I want to teach her that there are no limits.”

The February cover star Serena Williams discusses motherhood, marriage, and just how many more Grand Slams she intends to win before retirement. Be sure to pick up a copy when the new issue hit newsstands.
