Hollywood actor Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover‘s new “This Is America” could do something a lot of musicians only hope to do – knock Drake from the Billboard Hot 100 top spot. New reports claim Gambino’s infectious record is headed toward greatness.

According to reports, Childish’s new record will at the very least land at number two if it cannot take down the 6 God’s “Nice for What” smash.

The song, fueled by its socially-conscious video, could dethrone Drake’s “Nice for What.” Driven in large part by its buzzy, socially-conscious video, Childish Gambino’s new single “This Is America” should challenge for a No. 1 on debut on next week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 19); the Hot 100 blends weekly streaming, airplay and sales data, according to Nielsen Music. In a new interview, fellow Atlanta rapper Young Thug confirmed Gambino’s headed toward retirement and revealed he would land on his final LP.

“He got in touch with Reese LaFlare. I think they cool, friends or whatever. He told him to come to the [s[studio]He said he has a song for me for his last album. I tweeted one time, I was like, ‘I bet I be on Gambino’s last album.’ I’m on his last album, it’s crazy. He’s really not making music after this. So in this picture I was like, trying to be, I was really frustrated that he wasn’t making music no more but I was trying to be cool.” (Spotify)
